NEW BUILD INSPECTIONS

Many builders tell buyers they do not need a home inspection. However, this week I encountered a prime example of why an inspection is needed by all buyers. The home was only 1.5 years old but the heat pump was not cooling. It turns out the home owners liked a warm home year around and keep the thermostat at 78 degrees F. They commented when it was hot outside the home never got comfortable. It is likely the heat pump was not properly set up by the HVAC contractor.
